Every now and then a song comes along and stops you in your tracks, Ben Arthur's - Beautiful Day In LA is just that song.
If there is any A&R watching this now and can tell me it wont be a huge hit? then they are in the wrong job. Ben is unsigned and has been over looked for way to long. This video was made by a fan in Liverpool and makes you see both sides of a lovely city....

I can see the song on an American TV show, not the radio. And I think it would be great for that if it was marketed extensively. I think the bridge could be a bit more enthusiastic. Overall, I could definitely see the song on TV.

This seems to me like it could get radio play, maybe on some of the stations that play a mix of classic and new rock. I can hear the 70's singer/songwriter provenance coming through on this. I think the chorus has a fairly good hook under "can't hardly stand it anymore" but my ear seems to be wanting to hear another minor chord or two in there somewhere in the song, not sure where though. Maybe it's a quick key change I'm wanting to hear---just something seems to be missing from the chord progression.

But I'm not knocking it, it's a solid song. I like the edge in the lyrics, slightly sarcastic a la Sheryl Crowe, but not off putting. Ben's voice is good too, with that tinge of feeling that gives the song a nice little emotional tilt.
